Good news for movie buffs. No longer do you have to scour the papers for show timings. After BookMyShow, PVR Cinemas have launched a app for smartphone users. Namely, for Android and iOS users.
The app is positioned as a replacement of physical booking or e-booking. Everything can be done from the mobile itself as users can:
- Check show timings
- Sort shows by location, language and date
- Check availability of and select seats
- View Trailers of the show
- View Movie Posters
- Avail of Special Deals
- Share their booking with their friends via a Facebook Connect option

Aside from PVR, even others like Big Cinemas, FUN Cinemas offer apps where you can book tickets from. BookMyShow offers an all-in-one solution where you can book from almost all cinemas. PVR Limited has a chain of 154 screens in 35 multiplexes in 20 cities across the country and plans to expand its reach to 40 cities and 300 screens.
These days a range of services are offered to Indian customers online. One can book train, bus and plane tickets via Yatra and MakeMyTrip. One can access mobile money via Obopay, NGPay and ZipCash. Everything is literally a click away and has no doubt, made choices much simpler.
